Sketch Challenge #226

I made this card for SCS's Weekly Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
Ok... so, here's the sketch.

I used So Saffron for the card base, the Designer Series Paper is called Walk in the Park (LOVE IT!!), I lined all panels with Basic black card stock, and used a piece of Basic gray with the Eyelet Border punch. I stamped the "C" in Regal Rose from the Eight Great Greetings stamp set which is currently in the Occasions Mini. (By the way... there's a great special going on there!!) Layered it on Basic Black, and then on a Basic Gray Scallop. Sponged the edges of the Whisper white card stock, added some twinkles, popped it up on dimensionals .... and *Poof* its ready to send!! :o)

Here's the scallop layering up close...

And here's the inside of the card. The butterfly is from Great Friend, also in the mini. I stamped it with Versamark on So Saffron, then sponged it a bit with Regal Rose, cut it out and folded it slightly, and glued it in with some Crystal Effects. The inside sentiment is from God's Blessings, that set has so many nice sayings.

The current special running right now is for every $40 you spend in the Occasions Mini, you can pick a freebie from the "Under $10" page in the Idea Book (pg. 208) Pretty sweet deal, since I personally wanted EVERYTHING in the Occasions Mini!!
Anyway... have some homework to catch up on... Cya!!

Sketch Challenge #225

Wow!! I finally got to do a sketch challenge! I've been so busy with getting invitations and favors ready for Laura's baby shower, that I haven't had to chance to do a sketch challenge in like.... Fur-Evah!

I LOVE the branch from this set, it's called Thoughts & Prayers, and its just so gosh darn pretty! I colored directly on the rubber and huffed it! Trimmed it out ever soooo carefully! Added a few layers, and put it on some "Walk in the Park" DSP. Really, now... can Stampin' Up come out with prettier papers than these?? I aDORE these papers!! They just go so WELL with a ton of stamp sets!

The sentiment is from the new set in the Occasions Mini called Oval All and its popped up on dimensionals. This set works SO nicely with the NEW oval scallop punch!!! It's just great when the punches and the stamp sets go so well together!!

The ribbon is secured with a brad that I had opened up and fastened around the back... just squeeeeeeezed it around the ribbon.

Here's a close up of the sentiment and you can see how I cut out the branch. I had to draw a pencil line where I wanted to cut, and anything outside the pencil lines was cut however the shape went.
I wish I had more time in the evenings to make more than just one card. Although... I am just HAPPPPPPY that I got to stamp!
Need to get to bed early tonight!! Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!

Final Version!!

Ok... here it is... the Final Product! I changed things around just a bit... sponged the lilypad, added a dragon fly. I'm happy with it.
The water is wheeled in Bashful Blue using the Whimsy jumbo wheel, and the top of the water is cut with the scallop edge punch. The actual frog is a die from Sizzix. I sponged around his/her body and added some polka-dots and the wiggly eyes. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations punched out with the Tag punch. My stampin bud Barb let me borrow her dragonfly punch, and I glittered his wings with Diamond Dust. The "flower" is the Snow Blossom punch and I cut it in half. It's also up on a dimensional.
I had a lot of fun making these cards... I made 40 of them!
Yikes!!

Here's lookin' at YOU!

Holy PINK frogs!! This is what I've been working on for the last week. These little froggies, and I just finished up the invitation, too! I'm finally done!
Now I just have to mail the invites, and my favors are already DONE! PHEW!

Can you SPOT the imposter? It's almost like the game "Where's Waldo?" He's in there... he's a little bit different from the rest!
By the way... Waldo is the one with NO spots-- kind of in the center of all those peepers!!

HA! Everytime I look at this picture it reminds me of the Crane Game on Toy Story with all those little green aliens! hahaha.

I got the frog idea from somewhere on Splitcoast... but for the life of me.. I can't find where, I just spend over an hour looking so I could give credit for the person who created this. So, if you are the one who created this little work of art... please email me so I can give you the proper credit!!

Edit of post: "Wahooo, I found it!! Finally, after more hours of searching some blog... I have a link to where I found these little cuties. I found this on Jackie's website, Addicted to Stamping. Check it out, she's got some GREAT talent!!

Isn't this little guy aDORable?? They crack me up everytime I L@@K at them!!

Here's a side view, they each hold a Hershey nugget!!

I had to find a container big enough to hold them all...

Supplies used:

Paper~ Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Whisper white, Basic Black

Punches~ Large Oval, Small Oval, 3/4" circle, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle, and the Spring Garden punch that is now retired.

Baby Shower Invites

Ok..
I worked all night on this card, but... its still not exactly what I was hoping for... It needs a little more "bling" and when I get it exactly as I invision it... The frog will stay the same, but... i'm not sure everything else will. I'll repost it again tomorrow night after I mull it over a bit.
Anyway, I wanted to post it so you can see what I've been working on...
The frog is diecut from a Sizzix die, and the lilypad is an oval which was cut with my coluzzle. The water background is Bliss blue, punched with my scallop edger. And I added some wiggly eyes...
TTFN,
Carol
Post edited after a good nights sleep: I am going to add some paper piercing around the lilypad, and on the "waves" and maybe around the "You're Invited" :o)
I will repost it tonight!

Clear Box

Welp... I promised a little stamping.... and that's ALL I was able to do tonight... is... VERRRY little stamping!

I cut out this clear box using the Big XL die called Box #2 from the new medium clear sheets featured in the Occasional mini... WOW those are sheets areTHICK! Assembled it and filled the box with some Hershey minitures... and tied on a piece of Whisper white Organza ribbon.

I stamped the saying "a little something" in tempting turqoise, punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch, punched out another circle using the 1 3/8" circle punch in basic black, and popped it up on dimensionals on a Scallop Circle of Pacific point blue! Circles, circles and more circles!! I LOVE my punches! I tied the scallop on with a piece of linen thread.

Viola!! easy peasy!

Here's a picture from the top.

NOW.... unfortunately... i have to finish that term paper that I never posted yesterday!! (I'm so bad!.... i would SO rather stamp than do homework!!)

By the way.... the winner is: Leigh Ann
Email me your address, and I'll send you your winnings!!

Thanks for playing!

I promise... I'll stamp WAY more tomorrow night!!

That's the theme of my daughter's baby shower. She's naming the baby Lillian Jade, and we're going to call her Lily. So grandma will be calling her Lilypad! heehee!

I found the pattern to this milk carton create, and decided to make it in Green Galore and Pretty in Pink. This isn't the actual frog that I wanted to use, but it was the only one that I had at the time. I'll be borrowing a cuter frog from my stampin' bud, Barb! (thanks, Barb!!)
